ABOUT US
Umicore Precious Metals Refining is located in Hoboken near Antwerp, Belgium. Initially designed as a lead de-silvering Plant in 1887, it gradually evolved and now specialises in the complex metallurgy of lead, copper, nickel, precious and special metals. About 250,000 mt is processed annually, of which a growing portion consists of precious metal bearing scrap and residues: spent industrial catalysts, motor vehicle catalysts and electronic scrap, as well as sweeps, slags, filter dusts, etc ... Our large plant offers us the ability to be very flexible and treat almost every type of precious metals bearing raw materials. We have a pre-authorized facility status, granted by authorities for environmentally sound recycling of non-ferrous metals from all kind of materials, including hazardous wastes. Our operations are ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certified.
The recovery of spent industrial catalysts has become the specialty of our operation: a separate business line coordinates all interests relating to this type of material, allowing us to focus our attention on our customers' specific needs.
